The web presentation of the Czech Statistical Office at its www.czso.cz website belongs already for several years to resources archived by the National Library of the Czech Republic within the Webarchiv project. In March 2015, also the website of the Population and Housing Census www.scitani.cz was included.
The National Library of the Czech Republic launched the Webarchiv project in 2000 with the aim to archive the Czech web, i.e. to collect web resources, to preserve them and protect, and to ensure a long-term access to the archived documents.
Besides the domain-wide archiving of web resources with the national .cz domain, which is made usually once a year, the National Library of the Czech Republic makes also a harvest of selected websites, i.e. collects a group of resources with cultural, historic, research, and other values across all topics. Namely thanks to its original and unique content the www.czso.cz and www.scitani.cz websites were also included in the archive.
