The public administration information system.
The Trade Register is a public administration information system, which is administered by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and operators of municipal trade licensing offices (departments of municipal offices with extended powers and, in the case of the Capital City of Prague, trade licensing departments of city district authorities designated by the Statute of the City of Prague) as well as the regional trade authorities (departments of regional offices and, in the case of the Capital City of Prague, the trade licensing department of the Prague City Hall).
The Trade Register includes data records on entrepreneurs (natural and legal persons) established by the Trade Act as well as changes to these data. These data include the name and surname, personal identification number, domicile, place of residence, scope of business, business premises address, period of validity of a trade license and more. All information kept in the Trade Register are public, except for data on fines imposed by trade licensing offices and punitive measures imposed by other public authorities in connection with carrying business as well as data on the domicile and place of residence in the Czech Republic, place of residence outside the Czech Republic and personal identification numbers, which are communicated only to entrepreneurs concerned and the administrative body that needs these data to perform its activities in addition to the cases stipulated by special legal regulations.
