The Ministry of Industry and Trade presents the second Annual Report on Foreign Investments Screening in the Czech Republic.
The Czech Republic has been protecting its investment environment and domestic companies from risky foreign investors already for two years. As in the last year, we are presenting the activities of the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) in this area in our annual report. The previous annual report covered the period from May 2021, when the Foreign Investment Screening (FDI) Act came into force, to May 2022, while this year the report covers solely the year 2022. Consequently, there is a partial overlap with the previous report. This change was made for the sake of better comparability of the Czech FDI screening statistics with the international ones.
In 2022, MoIT analysts received a total of 423 notifications on investments made in other EU Member States through the EU framework of cooperation and they also reviewed 13 domestic cases. In 2022 no transaction was prohibited, but three investors reconsidered their investment plan and did not proceed with the investment.
