Long-Term Residence
The Long-Term Residence Permit is issued when the stay on the territory of the Czech Republic is expected to exceed 3 months.
The Embassy will issue a one-entry visa for the stay on the territory of the Czech Republic in the duration of 60 days with validity of 180 days for the purpose of collecting a Long-Term Residence Permit.
The Long-Term Residence Permit is primarily intended for persons who expect to reside in the Czech Republic for several years – e.g. for an accredited study programme at a university, employment etc.
Long-Term Residence Permit is given for following purposes: employment (employment card or blue card), study, scientific research, family reunification.
The application for the Long-Term Residence Permit must be submitted in person.
CONSULAR TERRITORIAL COMPETENCE:
The applicant is entitled to submit an application for long-term residence only to the embassy of the State of which applicant:
- is a citizen
- is the holder of the travel document
- is holder of legal long-term or permanent residence and has been residing continuously at least for 2 years in the State´s territory.
LEGALISATION AND TRANSLATION INTO CZECH LANGUAGE
In accordance with the Act no. 326/1999 on the Residence of Aliens in the Territory of the Czech Republic, certain supporting documents (criminal records, marriage certificates, birth certificates etc.) must be already prepared for international use and officially translated into the Czech language before the submission of the visa application.
NOTE: Applicants included in government programs are exempt from this obligation. In this case, the criminal record (only) can be legalised by the Embassy on the day of visa application submission.
