Beginning at the News Release for January 2013 the base of short-term statistics is to be changed. Besides a change to the reference period of base indexes, which shall be newly measured to the average of 2010 instead of that of 2005, the weighting scheme for 2010 shall be applied as well. In accord with the Eurostat methodology the new weights shall be created by a retroactive conversion back to 2009 which shall result in a revision of base indexes as well as year-on-year ones. Historic data prior 2009 shall be interlinked by means of conversion bridges and therefore year-on-year indexes shall stay unchanged.
